HISTORY: CALEDONIAN/BUA was founded in April 1961 as Caledonian Airways (Prestwick) LTD. a wholly private, independent Scottish charter airline. In November 1970, Caledonian merged with BUA. Initially operating under the interim name Caledonian/BUA, the merged entity adopted the British Caledonian name as of September 1971.
