HISTORY: AEROSPATIALE was originally known as Societe Nationale Industrielle Aerospatiale (SNIAS). The name was changed to Aerospatiale in 1970. On July 10, 2000, Aerospatiale-Matra merged with CASA of Spain and DASA of Germany to form the European Aeronautical Defence and Space Company (EADS).
