HISTORY: AEROLINEE ITAVIA SpA was one of the principal private Italian airlines in the 1960s until its collapse in the early 1980s, after the infamous Aerolinee Itavia Flight 870 crash, also known as the Ustica disaster. The airline was formed under the name of Societa di Navigazione Aerea Itavia in 1958.
